SCIFL held its Alliance season opener on March 22 – 23, 2025 at Little Lake Park in Santa Fe Springs, CA.
In the round robin format Beernuts and Borona both won 3 games and did not lose any giving them the #1 and #2 seeds. Beernuts took the #1 seed and Borona the #2 seed and would face off in the championship game in the single elimination the following day. A big sixth inning would lead Borona past the Beernuts to be crowned champions.
Ivan’s Big Day Propels Borona Past Beernuts

Ivan drove in five runs on two hits to lead Borona past Beernuts 12-1 on Sunday. Ivan hit an inside the park grand slam in the sixth inning, scoring four runs, and singled in the sixth inning, scoring one.
Borona scored 10 runs in the sixth inning on the way to victory. Ivan singled, scoring one run, Alan tripled, scoring two runs, Angel singled, scoring one run, Leo hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, an error scored one run, and Ivan hit an inside the park grand slam.
Beernuts got on the board in the first inning after Javier hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.
A sacrifice fly by Alan gave Borona the lead, 2-1, in the top of the fourth.
Angel stepped in the circle first for Borona. The starting pitcher allowed four hits and one run (zero earned) over six innings, striking out seven and walking none. Raul led things off in the circle for Beernuts. The starting pitcher allowed five hits and three runs over five and one-third innings, striking out nine and walking one.
Borona collected 12 hits in the game. Raven went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Borona in hits. Angel and Alex each collected multiple hits for Borona.
Javier led Beernuts with one run batted in. Osuna went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Beernuts in hits.
