Team Marquez and Jorge Segura go undefeated for the second year to defend their Championship.

Bear Creek Express Falls to Team Marquez

Bear Creek Express got on the board in the first inning. Pauli drove in one when Pauli doubled.

Team Marquez pulled away for good with two runs in the third inning. In the third Ochoa singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.

Team Marquez scored four runs in the fourth inning. Team Marquez big bats were led by Garcia, Patron, and Torres, all driving in runs in the inning.

Segura earned the win for Team Marquez. The fireballer went seven innings, allowing two runs on five hits and striking out ten.

Schofield took the loss for Bar Creek Express. Schofield went two and two-thirds innings, allowing three runs on three hits, striking out six and walking zero.

Pauli led Bear Creek Express with two hits in three at bts. Bear Creek Express was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Hyde had the most chances in the filed with eight.

Team Marquez racked up then hits in the game. Garcia and Lopez each racked up multiple hits for Team Marquez.

A-Major Division – Championship game – The Dondalk Smoke 0, Kansas City Bravos 8

Kansas City Bravos go undefeated to win the Championship, outscores their opponents 44-1, and their pitchers record a 0.30 ERA between all three pitchers. Ready for the AA Division in 2024.

Dondalk Smoke had a great run to the Championship by defeating DeKalb Hustle Hogs 7 to 0, OK Sykos 4 to 2, and again OK Sykos 4 to 2 before being stopped by Kansas City Bravos.

Gold “A” Division – Championship game – Plebes 10, Anthem Hills Dental 11

Anthem Hills Dental go undefeated to win the Gold Championship behind the pitching of Michael Skora.

Plebes started off the game by scoring a run in the first inning. Anthem Hills Dental answered by scoring 3 runs in the bottom of the ending. In the second inning both teams scored 3 more runs each. Plebes score 2 runs in the third and 1 in the fourth to take a 7 to 6 lead. In the bottom of the fifth inning Anthem Hills Dental answers back with 5 runs of their own to take the lead and would not score again. Plebes scored 1 run in the sixth, and in the seventh inning with two out, Daniel B hits a single to get on base to bring up Roberto Limon who took the ball deep into left center, over the fence and trees, to make it a 10 to 11 game. Michael Skora settled down and struck out the next Plebes batter to end the game.

Plebes did everything they could to fight back but feel short, but they would have another shot in the Silver “A” Division.

Silver “A” Division – Championship game – Plebes 2, Tribal Brothers 8

The Tribal Brothers fight their way back to win the Silver Championship behind the pitching of Humberto Valdez who pitched all seven games of their tournament.

Plebes started off the game by scoring a run in the first inning. Tribal brothers answered by scoring a two runs in the bottom of the ending. Plebes scored a run in the third inning to tie the game. The final 6 runs were scored by the Tribal Brothers at the bottom of the fifth inning to claim the championship game.

SCIFL and NAFA are pleased to announce its 16th edition of the "Las Vegas Road Trip" Men's Fast Pitch Tournament which will be held on March 31 thru April 2, 2023 with the first round games starting Friday at noon, and the Championship games scheduled for 3:00 PM on Sunday.

This event will accept teams who pay their entry fee prior to the due date. If for any reason the event cannot proceed, refunds will be issued so it is extremely important everyone pays online to make it easier and quicker to process refunds, if needed.

PLAN EARLY AND LATE

Teams flying in and out should make plans to be ready to play early on Friday and late on Sunday in the event the brackets are running late.

While this tournament is a NAFA sanctioned event, it is run by SCIFL. Any questions regarding this tournament must go through the SCIFL Commissioner, Jesse Ortiz.

NAFA DIVISIONS

Teams will be separated in the following divisions with the maximum number of teams listed.

A (24-teams maximum)
A-Major (14-teams maximum)
AA (12-teams maximum)

The split was based on a maximum 50-team tournament and how teams signed up from previous events.

NAFA PITCHERS LIST

The NAFA pitchers list will be used to monitor pitchers in the tournament as well as the team's current classification. No open class pitchers are allowed to pitch in any of the three divisions. Confirmation into the tournament will be based on the entry fee and roster received.

The classification list posted on the NAFA website as of January 31, 2023 will be used to classify pitchers. There will be no appeals for pitchers after that date for this tournament.

A 3-GAME GUARANTEE BRACKET will be used for all divisions with no "IF" games. With a minimum of eight (8) teams in a division, the winner will have their 2023 NAFA World Series entry fee paid for the division they participated in.

CONTACT AND PLAYING INFO

Teams interested in participating should contact Jesse Ortiz by email at scifastpitch (at) gmail.com and inform him if your team can play all three days. Teams that can play all three days will be placed on the priority list, teams that say they can only play on Saturday and Sunday will be placed on the secondary list. No one will be given a "selected" game time as everyone is traveling to the event.

HOW IT WORKS

We are accepting a maximum of 50 teams which will be placed on a team interested list, as a first come first serve basis. Once the tournament is full, additional teams will be added to the waiting list and if they pay their entry fee (in full) they will have an opportunity to participate if a team drops out or does not pay by the due date. If a team on the waiting list pays their entry fee and is not able to get in, their entry fee will be refunded.

*** This tournament has been filling up quickly within the past several years so I would suggest you contact Jesse as soon as possible if you want to be added to the interested team list to have the opportunity to pay first and avoid being on the waiting list. ***

ENTRY FEE AND REGISTRATION

The entry fee for the tournament is $655, which includes the $35 Annual NAFA Team Registration Fee. We will start collecting the entry fee beginning January 2, 2023 and once it's received you will be sent an email to confirm your entry.

All teams will need to submit their entry fee along with their team's roster, listing all their players and identifying their pitchers to ensure teams are placed in their proper classification.

You can pay online by visiting our website and clicking on the "Pay Online" button on the left hand side column or by check, but paying online is the preferred method.

DUE DATE

If the entry fee is not received by February 1, 2023, a team may lose their spot to a team on the waiting list who has paid their entry fee. This due date provides teams on the waiting list sufficient time to make appropriate travel arrangements if they get in.

ARIZONA CHARLIE'S BOULDER



Arizona Charlie's Boulder offers a casino, buffet and sit down dining along with live music in the casino bar/lounge and it is the tournament's host hotel for the 16th year.

SUNSET AND WARM SPRINGS PARKS

Information regarding the event, game results and player statistics will be posted on the SCIFL website. This year's tournament will be played at Sunset Park and Warm Springs Park; both are located within 1/4-mile of each other and are located by the Las Vegas International Airport.

Game times will be available once the tournament is filled and everyone has paid their entry fee or two weeks before the event.
