SCIFL hosted the Cecilio E Smalling Memorial Tournament on April 23-24, 2022 at Los Nietos Santa Fe Springs, CA. This was a 2-day tournament with 8 teams. It Started with a Round Robin where everyone was seeded to play Sunday in a Single Elimination.
The Budmen go undefeated and only allow 2 runs throughout the tournament to be crown Champions. They faced the # 3 seed, Smokers who won their 2 games on Sunday to participate in the Champions game.
The Budmen continue their winning streak by winning the Cecilio E Smalling Memorial Tournament. They started the season by winning the season opener in March and then went to the Las Vegas Road Trip XI on April 8-10, 2022 and won the A-Major division after taking a forfeit on their 1st game of the day.
The Smokers opened the season by taking the # 6 seed and losing a heart breaker on Sunday to the Budmen in their 1st game of the single elimination. They also went to the Las Vegas Road Trip XI on April 8-10, 2022 and did well by going undefeated until the Championship game where they would face the Budmen once again. They had a great game but fell short to the Budmen and took 2nd place. They would once again face the Budmen at the Cecilio E Smalling Memorial tournament in the Championship game but would fall short to take 2nd place.
