2013 Santa Fe Springs V Tournament

RUDE-PAC TOPS THE FIELD

The 7th tournament of the year was held on July 13 at Little Lake Park in Santa Fe Springs. With a small field of 6 teams the tournament was condensed and held on Saturday only. Each team would play 2 round robin games that would seed them into single elimination.

Rude-Pac came out of the round robin with a 1-1 record to earn the #2 seed in their pool. They opened up the single elimination with a big 13-1 victory over San Diego Primetime. In the Semi's they faced the #1 seed of the opposite pool, the Pala Braves, and won 6-2 to play in the championship game.

Meredith Cervenka was in the circle for Rude-Pac pitching in her second consecutive game against the Long Beach Wolfpack and Debby Day, also pitching back to back games.

The Wolfpack was up first and with one out Steve Parks got on base with a single and came around to score on a Dave Waco single. In Rude-pac's half of the inning, 7 of the first 8 batters reached base with singles and a walk to score 5 runs in the inning.

In the 3rd inning Ruben Lopez added another run with a solo home run and take a 6-1 lead. Rude-Pac added 2 more runs in the top of the 7th and Meredith allowed only 4 runners to reach first base after the 1st inning and record the complete game win and second championship of the season for Rude-Pac.

The Wolfpack went 2-0 in the round robin to be seeded #1 in their pool and earn a bye into the single elimination. The rest was helpful as the Wolfpack played had only 9 players available on Saturday. In their first game of single elimination they faced the Colton Dirtbags and won 6-2.
