2009 Billy Bash Tournament

The 2009 Billy Bash Champions are the Long Beach Black Sox who used their undefeated round robin results to take the number one seed in the elimination round.  They continued their winning ways on Sunday as they kept winning, including a victory of the the host's team, the Savala Painters, for a perfect 6-0 weekend.  The Black Sox first game of the day was against Flor de Cana and they won 8-1 which placed them against San Diego Primetime.  The Black Sox came out on top of this one with a score off 9-5 to place them in the Championship game against the Painters.  Ronnie Rupp and Dave Blackburn split the pitching duties with Rupp earning the win in the Championship game. 

The Savala Painters beat a tough "local" team W. Roosters in their morning game as the highest ranking third seed.  In a pitchers duel between Rob Davis of the Painters against Mark Bennett of the Roosters.  The Painters came from behind in the game for the win and which placed them agaisnt the Amigos.  They beat the Amigos 5 -1 to advance to the Championship game.
